The Education Minister of Serbia came under a full volley of criticism for her decision to take the teaching of Darwinism out of 8th grade studies, and to insert Biblical creationism. She had little idea of the fallout.
Her decision was reversed. This is a sobering reminder of how the engagement between worldviews should not be undertaken.
The ID movement certainly cannot be lumped into the same category as "creationism", and any attempt to do so is disingenuous. Thoughtful people on the other side of the debate should know better, but apparently do not, continually resorting to demagoguery and subterfuge.
Motives for taking a worldview position do not figure in to the validity of that worldview. Just because some ID proponents are motivated by their Christian worldview does not disqualify the scientific enterprise of intelligent design. The Darwinists are movtivated by their atheistic or agnostic worldviews. It cuts both ways.
