A recent Gallup Youth Survey asked students what kind of teacher they would prefer. Not surprisingly, the students said that they response best to passionate and creative teachers. These teachers do not often use textbooks, but dwell on how things work and why things happen, not wholly on memorizing facts. Of course, this wouldn't necessarily work for all disciplines.
In the eighth paragraph of the story, one 13-year old boy remarked, "Those classes make you excited about learning. Like in language arts class we just did a debate on evolution vs. creationism, and my teacher made us get on teams and research it and argue for and against it and it really made me and my friends think about it and talk about it even when we weren’t in class.”
In a recent survey, it was discovered that 80 percent of 18 to 29 year-old people wanted their children or themselves to be taught both the pros and cons of Darwinian theory. Too bad that these folks cannot get what they want, being bullied off the playing field by the Darwinists who are intolerant of any ideas that challenge their orthodoxy.
